こんばんは、　みなさん。

ｋｋさんのブログに　ビデオが　あります。　わたしは　ビデオを　みました。

After watching the video, I got interested in finding other Japanese children’s books and songs on YouTube. One thing lead to another, and I eventually found a pretty useful website that I thought I might share: http://www.iknow.co.jp/　

The page has a somewhat addictive flash card applet to help people learn Japanese vocabulary. (It also has ひらがなと　カタカナ if you're still a little rusty on those.) For each vocab word, there is an associated sentence. The sentence structures are generally much more complicated that I understand, but sometimes there are simple sentence which are really exciting. Either way, there is an English translation.

The vocab words are a mix of stuff we do and do not know, and all the verbs are in what I think is dictionary form. But I'm hoping that getting a little exposure to the vocab now will make learning the words easier later.

I'm particularly interested in one of the features of the website that allows users to create their own lists of vocab. When I have the time, I think I might try to make lists for our vocab words.

Anyway, I think it's definitely worth checking out if you have the time.

サウソベンドの　えき

おはよう！

メリーランドに　かえります。　いま　わたしは　でんしゃ(train)に　います。　ごぜん　じゅうじはんです。　きのうの　ごご　はちじごろ　サウソベンドの　えきに　いきました。　サウソベンドの　えきは　ちいさい　たてものです。　そして、あおい　たてものです。　えきで　ノートルダム大学の　学生が　ありました。　大学生は　かえりますか？

くじよんじゅうごふんごろ　でんしゃは　えきに　きました。　おばあさん(grandmother)が　います。　おばあさんは　バジニアに　いきます。 おばあさんの　かぞくに　きます。でんしゃで　「ボールン　アリタメティアン」の　えいがを　みました。　じゅうにじはんごろ　ねました。

いま　うちで　にほんごの　しゅくだいを　します。　　どようびに　ユーニオン　ステイションの　えきに　きました。　ユーニオン　ステイションは　ゆうめいな　たてものです。　きれいな　たてものです。　そして、　大きい　たてものです。　りっぱな　えきで　わたしの　きょうだい(siblings)を　きました。

あきやすみに　たいてい　テレビを　みます。　そして、　よく　ねます。
あきやすみが　すきです！

When I was typing いきます, I accidentally hit space instead of enter and 生きます　came up. Does anyone know why 生　is used?

So fall break is pretty great. I'm enjoying doing as little school work as possible. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to do a lot of work when I get back to campus becasue I've being putting so much off. Oh well. I hope you are all having great and exciting fall breaks!

Her Japanese can be hard to read because she doesn't include spaces, and I don't think she double checks spelling and grammar. スミス大学の　ジェシカさんの　ブログは　「はじめまして、　ジェシカです。」 と　いいます。　しゃしんは　きれいです。 I like that she has pictures of her and her friend playing DDR. and the giant ice cream! She uses some kanji that I don't understand, but otherwise, her blog is very readable. She talks about Spirited Away in her introduction post, which I thought was great considering how many of us love Spirited Away. http://jessicadesu.blogspot.com/
